Featured in The Knot

Take a peek at the beautiful photos The Knot has put together for their Spring/Summer 2013 issue. It was an absolute pleasure to work with this wonderful bride. She chose a delicate, lace Liancarlo wedding dress.

"The Bride: Mikaeya, 27
The Groom: Arshia, 26
How they met: They went to dental school together
Their engagement period: 1 year
Their wedding style: Finding inspiration in the fall season, Mikaeya and Arshia planned an elegant autumn-themed wedding using ivory, navy, orange and silver as their signature hues."                                  -Amanda Black, The Knot

Designer Spotlight

Liancarlo, Venetian Light

New York Bridal Market is just a few days away. As we prep to meet with our favorite designers they are prepping, too! Liancarlo (whose exquisite designs are all Made in the USA) spared a moment to share with brides a little more about his upcoming collection. In this video you can see the attention to detail and the artistic influence that artist and designer, Carlos Ramirez brings to every dress he designs.

In his upcoming collection, Venetian Light, the designer was inspired by the ethereal light that covers the city of Venice. During a recent trip to Italy he discovered the way that light diffuses subtle coloring on the landscape of the country. The elements of light and color are portrayed in the softness of the laces and embroidery used on the wedding dresses as well as the movement from the overall structure of the gowns.

Enjoy the latest video from Liancarlo and we look forward to sharing even more special elements of his newest wedding dress collection with you after Market!

Designer Spotlight: Liancarlo

A True Artist Bringing Life to Fabrics and the Canvas

Carlos Ramirez, wedding dress designer for Liancarlo, is an artist in all senses of the word. Upon touching the silk fabrics of his wedding dresses to putting “oil” to canvas - new life is brought to the ordinary.

Carlos Ramirez busy creating designs for his couture line of wedding dresses, Liancarlo.

A woman enters the bridal salon and once she slips on a Liancarlo design she becomes a bride. “He combines feminie silhouettes with the use of luxurious fabrics, sumptuous textures, and exquisite hand-work detail (Liancarlo).” All while creating these works of art from the United States, it’s always a pleasure to work with designers who remain Stateside for their dresses.

And Ramirez continues the journey for the bride on his own personal blog Art Reflects Life . This is yet another platform for the designer to dip his toes into, sketched paintings. He takes images from the inspiring wedding stories of his bride’s and transforms the emotions behind them into works of art to be cherished forever. Can you even imagine how special it would be for your wedding gown designer to create a piece of artwork for your wall? You would have thought that the dress alone was a work of art, but to top it off there is the possibility of a timeless artwork from the designer.

American Wedding Dress Designers-Is There a Difference?

We are excited that Liancarlo, a wedding dress designer out of Florida, has agreed to do another trunk show in Kansas City! After such a busy wedding season, I really appreciate the difference of working with fine American wedding gown designers where the manufacturing is done in their own workroom. The attention to detail in design is far superior than those who draw a picture and send it to China to manufacture. Not only is the attention to design detail better and more creative, but the workmanship on the gowns is superior, the handwork is true artistry. Why doesn’t every bride want to wear such a garment, unfortunately price can be a factor. To think the wedding gown market is flooded with companies that make wedding gowns under a designer name who doesn’t even exist, definitely a different eye for detail, or lack there of! When looking for a wedding dress, think of what really makes your wedding dress special, is it the fabrication, attention to detail, design or quality of workmanship, or is it just a dress that is almost like an American made wedding dress? Many of the designers I know are truly passionate about what they do and are not just in it for the business, otherwise they would take their sketch and send it to China, make it cheaper and pocket a whole lot more money!
